Welcome to Calderside Pointers: Graham and Dawn Ingham from Trawden in Lancashire own the “Calderside” kennel. Of the two Graham was the first to own a pointer, when as a young lad, still living with his parents. He had been given permission to have a dog of his own and knew of a litter of pointers bred by Mr and Mrs John Walmsley of the sun inn at Trawden who had bred pointers over a number of years, including Copperas Guardsman, a dog they sold to Mr Bill Parkinson who made him into a champion. The litter Graham was choosing his puppy from had Wanless Whippersnapper as the dam and were sired by Crookrise O'Flynn, Grahams choice was a dog puppy named Wanless Warrior, the year was l957 and this was to be the start of a love of pointers and the beginning of the Calderside kennels. |
